Christmas Family Picture

It has been a long time since our last entry so we hope these pictures are worth the wait. We had a wonderful time as a family despite being new here. We have come to appreciate eachother more and more. We learned that Christmas is not about traditions and warm fuzzies but about Jesus, our King, our High Priest, and our Savior! We also realized how we have taken celebrating Christmas as believers for granted and that there are people who don't know Him personally who can celebrate the occasion. So, our prayer is that a year from now we could know some people that are celebrating Christmas for the first time as children of God.

Update

We are moving into our new home tomorrow! Mommy and Papa say that I get my own room. You should see it; it is BIG! We have to buy a bed to put in it. Today I slept on a palate for my nap while they cleaned and organized the stuff we brought from America. I like it here most of the time. If Mama and Papa keep me posted on what is going on and if I can go to the park I am easy going.

I haven't had any hard falls lately. This is a record for me.

I have regressed a little in my potty training. I guess since we were gone most of the day looking for a place to live and just not feeling right here I changed my mind about going in my potty. Mama says it is normal.

One fun thing I like to do is find street sweepers. They have two flashing yellow lights on top and I can spot them really far away.
Papa says I'm so smart because I can find the car we get to use while we are here in the parking lot and we have only had it 4 days. He also says it when I say all of my ABCs, too. I used to leave out e-f-g-h-i-j-k.

My favorite songs are "My God is so Big", "Hallelujah, Praise ye the Lord", "Jesus Loves Me", and the Doxology. One of Mommy's favorites is when I try and sing "itsy-bitsy spider" and "twinkle, twinkle little star". I sing, "the itsy-bitsy spider climbed so high in the sky, down came the rain like a diamond in the sky." We don't sing those as often, but I try and remember how they go.

My Mamaw is coming soon. Before she was coming but now she is. Mama says that we still have a lot of sleeps before she comes but that she will be here a litle after Christmas. I told my cousin Jojo that I wanted Santa to bring me a Christmas Tree. I see lots of Santa Clauses here. Some are little and some are big. Some move and some just stare straight ahead. Papa said that when we get some furniture and are settled into our place we are going to do an advent wreath and then later we are going to bake a cake for Jesus because Christmas is about his birthday. We have been reading stories at night about how Jesus was born. I get distracted and just count the chickens on each page. I still can't get down the difference between a chicken and a rooster. They both look the same to me.

We met our portero (the guy that maintains the building) today. His name is Arturo. I called him "That People" for a little bit until I could remember his name. He took us to buy light fixtures for our apartment. He is very nice but he puts fire in his mouth and smoke come out. He offered Mommy and Daddy one but they didn't take it. He is very nice. He reminds me of Sayid and Hamed. They would do things for us, too.

I still ask about Fatima (my babysitter) and John-John and Lydia once a day. We don't live near them anymore. I miss playing with them.

Well, that somes up some of my adventures. Thanks for tuning in. I will have pictures next time.

Cotton Candy

One of the great treats that we sometimes splurge on is cotton candy. This stuff is amazing!

Random

Levi loves running around naked after his bath-Does it ever get old? Or do they ever grow out of this? He likes for "mommy to chase Levi". So, I chased him one night and he crawled into our N.African shopping bag.

Still not completely dressed but doing better he has on his favorite shoes. He corrects me when I say shoes-"boots, mom." They are boots. But, then, I would have to say his only pair of boots instead of his favorite pair of shoes because he prefers to wear these.

Holiday

It was a holiday yesterday. Everything was closed so we went to the park to enjoy the sun! It has been cloudy and rainy lately so this was a special gift to have the extra warmth!

Levi playing with his new toys. He wants to play with his construction set literally all day; at the hotel, in the park, in the bathtub! It was like Christmas for him, early, when he got this. We bought it to celebrate us finding a home and for him being such a trooper through it all!

Feeding the ducks and birds in these two pictures above!

Just two interesting sights at the park! Some people go a little overboard. Animals are like children to people here, for sure!

Have you ever seen anything like this before? This is a section for the elderly. You can sit on the benches and peddle like you are riding a stationary bike and get upper body excercise with the wheel in the backgroud. I love it!!

Just a beautiful shot I thought I would share.

This is a tree that had many carvings. As I looked closely I saw carvings in Arabic! It was just a little encouragement from Abba!

Family Day

After a long week we decided to take a family day and went to the park for a boat ride and to play at the park. It was cloudy and very chilly! We fed the ducks and saw two policemen on two big horses. It was very rewarding.

Then, I enjoyed a nice hot bath and Papa showed me my ¨go-go gadget¨ fingers with my tub colors.
