Bigger and Better Tree

Our new tree. We bought a tree from our friend and saved a lot of money. It is sooooo much better than our Charlie Brown tree we had before. We love it!

David went to a brithday a party and got these glasses for a prize and has been enjoying them.

Sharing the Good News

The Jesse Tree is one of the helpful ways we are sharing about Him with our children.
The Sunday school class we are teaching this month. There are about 7 countries represented in this room!
Making cookies for the people in the market and the ones who work in the bar next to our house. This year I wrote a letter about what Christmas mean to us and how I decided to follow The Way when I was 17. At the end I put how Christ makes our life "sweet" and we wanted to share it with them.

City Lights

We decided to go out on the town and enjoy the festivities of Christmas. David sported his bubba teeth and caught the attention of a young woman on the bus.

The green tree is put in a different location each year. Two years ago it was close to our house at Atocha when Tim ran the big New Year's Eve race. It is gorgeous! The clock tower in the back is where New Year's Eve is celebrated with the dropping of the ball like in Times Square.
This is Callao. An area where a lot of theaters are located. It has an ice skating rink and is bustling with many shoppers!

This is a famous tradition in Madrid - to visit the Cortylandia display on the wall of the building. Every year it has a different theme. They play the Cortylandia song and then add different songs that jive with the theme. This year it was about different parts of the world and how some of those countries celebrate Christmas. Italy was the most shocking - they have a witch that comes and delivers the gifts! No thanks.
As you can tell it was bitter cold and we were all bundled up. I wish you could have seen the amount of people there.

We went to a sandwich shop for dinner and all left saturated with smoke and exhausted after trying to feed 3 tiny vultures and ourselves in a cramped little area after wading through thousands of people. Phew! What a night! We still have the big nativity scene to see next!

Funny David

Our sweet David continues to grow in character and we find him cheering up our days with his fun, loving personality. He found these bubba teeth and decided he was going to wear them on the ride to pick up Levi from school.
He had them in and I put him in the car seat that faces backwards that they have on the city bus. There were two older women facing him and he smiled really big and the women just had a ball with him. She kept saying, "oh, how funny. Oh, please don't scare me.....oh, you are so silly." David looked up at me and had the cutest look on his face like, "Mom, they think I am really funny." He just kept smiling and taking in all of her comments. It was really a blesisng to see him interact with her. The people here love him and just dote on him and tell him how much they love his smile. He is someone really special and we thank God for Him!

Jumping Beans

This is David's new love. He has been wearing this hat for 2 days. Nana gave it to Levi when he turned one and we still have it 5 years later!


This is how we have fun on cold days. We put a mattress in the living room and jump, wrestle, and just act WILD! Our friend Matthew came over and we enjoyed sharing the fun.

Christmas pictures

The 3 niños duded up for Christmas on Sunday. Levi has been practicing the last 5 weeks for the children's choral Christmas presentation.

Daddy is home!

Trinity was playing with the spaghetti when her Dad came home. I snapped these cute photos of her exploring the texture and trying to get it in her mouth.
I love the front of her hair up like this because it really reflects her fun, playful personality.





She had the sweetest smile when he walked int he door as if to say, "Is it really you?! You came back!"
What a joy seeing them together again. David was still taking his nap and Levi was in school when he arrived.

Jammies

So now that it is cold and Levi had 5 days off from school we found ourselves hanging out in our jammies a lot until about 12:00 everyday. The PJs with footies are the big thing for the kids because our floors can be so freezing and they just make sense. Keeping socks on David is like trying to keep a leash on a parakeet and a few weeks ago I received some great PJs with ZIPPERS and footies for Trinity. Levi loves the footies because he can run and slide on the floors with them.

David's favorite thing to do is just have his jammies on his arms, his feet out, and run and say, "SUPERMAN!!" He is a playful fella and very creative.

Since our apartment is so dark in the winter we can enjoy our Christmas tree lights all day. IThe gold and white ornaments from Nana have been a real blessing reminding us of what Christmas is all about. The kids have enjoyed the ones from Mamaw so much that one is already broken....the soccer ball. :(
I love seeing Trinity toddle away and try to run. David is running and saying, "superman!"
