Jordan

Here are most of the shots we took in Jordan. We did not take many. We did take some cool video of 9 of us in a taxi on our way home from dinner one night. The kids were hilarious. David had such a good time he said, "Graciaaaaas!!!" to the taxi driver on as he squeezed out. We learned so much and were so thankful for the opportunity we had as a family. We saw our kid's understanding of the Lord increase and we left so encoruaged and hopeful of the days ahead.
It was wild being in a Mslm country with a Baptist seminary. The call to prayer was a deafening reminder of the need for us to pray for His H.S. to open the eyes of the blind and free the captives. There were a ton of American products...super weird compared to Morcco. I saw Cracker Barrel cheese in Carrefour! I fell in love with falafel, hummus, and tabouli from there. I still have cravings. I will not miss the giant cockroaches in our apartment. I will miss living in community with the guest house mates.
Father's Day in Amman. Daddy got Zoob (plastic building toys) for his gift. The kids loved it...so did he. It provided lots of Dad-sons time togther.
looking more mature in the face.

Open market where I bought a pair of jeans for L & T for $2

Loads and loads of clothes, shoes, perfumes, and random things. Quite a cultural experience!
playing at a friend's house - they have 6 boys!
Trin loves her Aquadoodle. She is looking so grown up. She enjoys coloring with crayons and markers. She always says, "draw budderfly".

She loves her daddy. We had nightly wrestling matches on the bed. Storytime consisted of reading "Just Lost" by Mercer Meyer and "Grizzwold". Levi enjoyed the first book of The Magic Tree House series the most.
Cuddle time before bed which turns into sillytime. Trini says, "Cuddle Bubba."
David claimed the top bunk. he enjoyed fishing over the side. His pole was a popcicle stick with a long piece of yarn attached to it. His "hook" was a paper clip. He played with that thing for days. He is so creative and imaginative.
The play area in the back yard where we stayed.

The Zoob creation!
Our growing flock!
This is an Egyptian girl that lives near the guest house. She loved spending time with all of the kids from our company. She was such a delight. She cried and cried when we all left.
Another shot of the backyard.
The view of the neighborhood. Every building has that cream colored cement.

For fun one night we went and got ice cream with another family staying in the guest house. Levi was disgusted by the amount of trash on the ground. he said he was glad we didn't live there.

We all loved it! It wasn't Blue Bell but it was cold and refreshing!

a little fruit/veg place.
The kids were in "school" every day from 0815-16:30 and really had a wonderful time. D stills says, "I want to go to Jordan and be with my teachers."
Some of their classmates watching a video of what one of the kid's life is like in Africa. Each family had a day to share with the kids the work they do and which country they are living in.

Sol in May

This was Sol during the long "sit-in". It was so weird seeing such a historic site littered with tents, trash, signs that cried out against the corruption of the government, and sorrow. I feel sad for the people here. The unemployment is so high and so many people are graduating and not getting jobs. These pictures are for us to remember this important period in history and to let all of our friends see what it looked like. You stood in these same spots! Wild!

The "grocery store"
The future apple store where the Tio Pepe sign used to be.

the modern entrance to the train station plastered with people's opions and cries for help.

The fountain turned into a garden.
