Levi's 7th Birthday

Levi turned 7 on the 17th and we have been amazed at how much he has matured this last year. He is showing how he is like his dad in his servant-heartedness, sensitivity to seeing people suffering...exceot his brother; you have to loathe sibling rivalry sometimes, his need for quality time, and his walk with the Lord. He prays regularly for "the people at the mosque" and has developed more of an understanding of what we do here. He is understanding repentance and daily expresses his need for forgiveness. His strengths are Math and Science and he loves to construct new things from his plethora of Legos he has. I love seeing his symmetrical inventions. He can now blow a bubble if he has the right kind of gum and plays more interactively with his brother. We look forward to seeing what this next year hold for him. Hopefully it will involved being baptized...not the Nacho Libre kind.
Lots of family sent gifts and he opened them on the phone with each person and it was a real treat.
Our friends that we invited to his party gave him some rollerblades with all the pads that go with it to ensure his safety. He is slowly get used to it and really enjoys them.
Levi wanted Martian cupcakes found in my Cooking with Cupcakes book. I just had to say "no" because of time and because they were not going to taste as good as these that I decided to make; chocolate cupcakes with fudge frosting and a homemade powdered donut to go on top. He graciously agreed to my idea and the cupcakes were delicious and less time consuming!
The best girls in the world with our 2 little ones.
Levi's best bud.
nice group shot of our dear friends who attended. This family has been such a blessing to us since the birth of David. Their kids have taken David and Trini in and played with them and loved on them so much. Having this family over for Levi's party was a blessing for all of our kids and not just Levi. We are so thankful for their friendship. Birthday boy diving into the homemade donut goodness!
smiling like David with his chocolate filled face.
We had to remove her dress to preserve it from the chocolate stains.
After lunch, some rollerblading, naps, and the cupcake goodness we went to the pool and then came home and had BBQ sandwiches, potato salad, and veggies. The kids slept so well that night. We were wiped out!

Visit to Antonio's country home

Antonio's cousin.
Some of the houses in the town.
Antonio grew up in a siper duper small town. He is 1 of 7 children. His parents are both deceased and some of his 2nd cousins and uncles continue to live in the town. We loved being in the old town of Villaviciosa. David's favorite thing was walking his dog Czar.
This castle used to be a 2 star hotel but is currently shut down
The boys enjoyed studying the holes where the archers shot their arrows.
Tim's dream car!

This stone we are sitting on is from the 2nd century! Can you believe it?!
This is one of Antonio's cousins who let us take a peek into his garden. Lots of families have a separate plot of land just for their gardens. It is not their back yard.

The kids were on the entrance to Antonio's house.
The chickens running around the town
Antonio picking some mint for us before we go.

We also enjoyed the little creek - building a dam to try and stop the flow, picking blackberries, watching 3 men get pears out of a tree using stones and long sticks, bringing the pears and fresh grass to the horse at the entrance to the town, eating lunch at an incredible Spanish restaurant in a near-by town, , visiting with Antonio's sister, meeting the locals, and waking up to the sound of roosters.
