Hadassa's first week

Our teammates hosted a surprise baby shower for us about a week before your arrival. Kristin made the cake and it was absolutely incredible! All the kids pretended like they were pregnant and Wanda made a Puerto Rican dish and a pumpkin flan that were delicious.

Enjoying Wanda's patio!

We hung the banner up in our hospital room

Mamaw arrived the day before you! We enjoyed Thursday and Trini had a blast doing tea party and trying on her new clothes with too-toos!

Jojo's nana gave you guys some cars and helicopters.
It was "Carnival" the day you were born and Mamaw and Papa were able to come and see your class perform the songs. D could not have been more proud and excited to have his abuela there like all the other kids. All the kids had to dress up like clowns and D fought it all week. He wanted to be an action figure.

The day before we took Mamaw out to eat at our favorite place for her birthday lunch. We wanted to do something fun and special for her and before I was homebound!

The "night-before" shot before you came!

We arrived at the hospital at 12:30 Feb 17th and waited about 10 minutes before being escorted to our room. I first walked into the room and saw that I had an electric bed this time! Woohoo. That was a huge answer to prayer. It made sitting up and moving so much easier! Two nursing students came in to start my IV and asked Tim and Mom to leave ...because they were nervous. They tried once and blew the vein- 18 g needles are NOT fun when you miss. So, the floor nurse came in and got it on the 2nd try! I had to get stuck 3 times with David, too! They took me back to surgery shortly after. I got my epidural which was really scary-I hate it when people are sticking anything in my back. Everyone was talking and I couldn't really hear the anesthesiologist instructing me and so I was really nervous. Finally it was in and I lay back and waited for them to carefully make the incision that would allow you to come out. I got nauseated and quickly got medicinal relief. It was the weirdest feeling when they were working to try and get you out. They had to push down on my epigastric region to try and push you out. They said you were really high up. That felt like an elephant sitting on my chest. You came out at 15:10 and Dr. Buelga said, "Moreno, Moreno, moreno!" She was commenting on your dark hair! She held you up to me and you were so perfect. You were bigger than I thought you would be for a 37 week baby! Praise the Lord you were healthy and strong. You weighed 3.34 kg and were 50 cm long. The end of your spine was all intact! They took you to be cleaned off and then the pediatrician brought me to you and said were healthy. I gave you several kisses and they took you outside the OR where Daddy and Mamaw were waiting for you.
They put you on Daddy's chest for some "skin-to-skin time". Something they did not promote when David and Trini were born.
You weighed 3.34 kgs and were 50 cms long. You were born at 15:10.
All 3 of you stayed in the room while I was being closed up. I was only in recovery for 20 minutes and came ot the room by 16:15.

I came in and we picked an outfit for you to wear.
We are so proud of you already and so thankful for your life.

Trin, you asked to hold Dassa the second day you came to the hospital. I captured the most precious video of you receiving your little sister for the first time. Joy and love just radiated from your smile. You are going to be such a wonderful big sister!

You in your jammies on the 19th. We had to move to another floor (Med-surg) because the heaters on the maternity ward broke. We were moved to a suite that was really big. Below is the shot of us before going home. Patricia came and picked us up and drove us home.
