Smiles

 The progression of Hadassa's smile...

 In and out of sleep
Trinity (below) when she was the same age as Hadassa now (above).

Ice Cream

We decided to bust out the ice cream maker from great uncle Tommy! We bought a Ben & Jerry's recipe book and so our first recipes we did were Cookies n Cream and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. It was delicious and fun!

Trini using the hand crank. Everyone got a turn being a part of the process.

Hadassa is really smiling these days and it is a joy watching her grow and change. She really focuses on your face,  kicks a lot and trys hard to control those hands and feet! She slept the last two nights for a 5 hour stretch! It was marvelous!

The Girls

Trinity still is so sweet to her baby sister and very helpful.

L calls her his "little darling".

Little Trinity is not so little anymore. The other day I asked her the last time she week potty and she said, "about 3 weeks ago." It was funny. Why should I ask a question like that? Silly me!

David's Surgery

Super Dave got his adenoids out and tubes put in his ears on April 11th in hopes of helping keep the fluid off his ears...and help him hear better.

He had to get labs drawn and have a pre-op EKG all of which were normal.
This is him going to surgery and below is him returning. He was very groggy and irritable in the post-op area. I had to go back and reassure him. I played "Surfin' USA" for him on my ipod. He fell asleep for about an hour then woke up and began drinking Coke (they say kids prefer it to water when having this surgery.) He did great - no vomiting. We went home about 2 hours after surgery and by dinner time he was eating pizza. He was so brave and didn't cry through it all.

Here are the little cuties the next day enjoying the popcicles. David stayed home one and from school and was so happy about it.

Bonding

Mama enjoying her girls!

O, it melts my heart to see this man with his girls. They are so blessed to have him for a father.

This is the one picture that really captures what she looks like
He loves her so much and always kisses on her and snuggles. He is such a sweetie to her!

D&T

I love that God gave David and Trinity to each other. They are like two peas in a pod. It gives me great joy to see them playing and being so sweet to each other. They also can be quite stinkers, too!

We had "paint t-shirt day" and I think I have found my new de-stressor...painting! It is so fun and relaxing.
David painted the grey parts and did his name. I did the detail on the rhino and the girls put their hands on theirs!

Nana & Grandpa

Nana and Grandpa made it to Spain!! Yay! They were here for a week soaking up the kids and tasting what life is like here for us. We made a trip to Ávila and enjoyed a meal with Antonio. Grandpa was able to get his biking in and show us some bike trails. Nana snuggled with Hadassa and enjoyed hearing the kids talk and say funny things. It was so therapeutic for us to have them here. Thank you!!

A pastry shop in Ávila and the main plaza below. It was too cold to be eating outside. We had coffee and the typical potatoes! Yummy!

Antonio and Trinity above
Enjoying "El Hornazo" at Antonio's brother's house. It has chorizo and egg inside. The other had pork and egg- both very tasty. He said as a kid he would go with his parents and 6 brothers and sisters and go up the hill and eat Hornazo on Easter morning.
Tim sporting his Father's Day gifts (Spanish father's day).

We loved that N&G brought plastic eggs! We hid them multiple times and they provided great entertainment.

Day trip downtown our city

David had a magician come to his school one day and so he had to dress up for that! G brought the boys to school wearing this hat and the little kidsin D's class thought he was silly.

roasting marshmellows and having S'mores...yes it was cold enough to make a fire here!

N brought some new clothes for a family picture and we got some really good ones.

David acting like a pirate
Trinity not wanting to be in the picture

crying about having to be in the picture
pouting and refusing to look
Mommy saying, "Look at that bird!!!"
Then,..."look at that bird pooping on my head!!"
